Sensurion Aerospace Names Robotic Skies as its UAS Global Maintenance Services Provider

Sensurion Aerospace announced today that it has selected Robotic Skies as its global field maintenance provider for its unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) products. As part of the agreement, the two companies will collaborate to create a customized maintenance program for the Sensurion line of FAA- certified, industrial-grade UAS aircraft. From more than 100 field Service Centers around the globe, Robotic Skies will provide customer service, spares and technical support, including the implementation of a comprehensive warranty program.

“This partnership underscores our commitment to our global customer community, by providing immediate technical support for users who depend on MAGPIE™ for their day-to-day missions,” Sensurion CEO Captain Joe Burns noted. “We are convinced that Robotic Skies’ Service Center network will broaden our reach, enhance accessibility for our customers and strengthen Sensurion’s service-delivery model.”

The MAGPIE, Sensurion Aerospace’s preeminent, small, fixed-wing UAS, is currently in operation for a variety of aerial sensor applications. A dynamic utilitarian UAS, the MAGPIE offers easy-to-use mission programmability, on-the-fly flight-plan redirection, and smart-sensor technology that interfaces with onboard mission computer and sensors for active tracking and health monitoring.

With a wide range of options and configurations, the FAA-certified MAGPIE is a highly-sought solution in industries ranging from oil and gas exploration to law enforcement, UAS training, border patrol, and precision agriculture. In December of 2014, Sensurion became the first manufacturer to receive a Special Airworthiness Certificate (SAC) for the MAGPIE from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under its new procedures, which designate authority to the Test Range for SAC review and guidance.

Robotic Skies is the leading provider of engineering design, assembly/completion services, and field repair for industrial-grade unmanned aircraft. With Service Centers throughout North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Asia, The Middle East, and South Africa, its customers range from high-performance multi-rotor and fixed-wing platform manufacturers to optionally manned aircraft operators.

“Like Robotic Skies, Sensurion has deep experience in manned aviation and commercial airborne operations,” said Brad Hayden, President and CEO of Robotic Skies. “Our two companies share the same vision of bringing high-performance mission capabilities supported by the reliability and efficiency that can be realized in the aviation safety-culture environment. We are thrilled to be working with Sensurion to support their customers worldwide.”
